Christine Lewis '07 Named to 40 Under 40 List
The Metro Councilor and former ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ trustee will be honored by the Portland Business Journal on July 13.
Christine Lewis '07, who just finished her time as a ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ trustee, . The list, which honors influential professionals in the region from across a range of industries, is winnowed down from nearly 300 nominations annually. A celebration will be held on Thursday, July 13, at the Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland.
Christine, who studied anthropology at ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ and now lives in West Linn, ; she began her second term this year. She serves on JPACT, MERC, the Supportive Housing Services Oversight Committee, the Supportive Housing Services Tri-County Planning Body, the Oregon Zoo Foundation Board, and the Community Placemaking Advisory Committee.
She has more than a decade of experience in state and local government policy and advocacy roles. Immediately prior to her time on Council, she served as the legislative director at the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. In 2016 she managed the historic housing bond campaign in the City of Portland.
In addition to her service on ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ's board of trustees, Christine has served on the boards of the Portland Opera and the Willamette Falls and Landings Heritage Area Coalition. Her previous board service includes environmental organizations, groups working to advance women in leadership, and several local government advisory committees. She volunteers with Minds Matter of Portland, the Junior League of Portland, and the Portland Opera, among other organizations.
